Our aging lab seems quite comfortable with this bed. I'd relied on double "stuffed" mats which required constant fluffing (and in so doing would release the odor of the dog...ick...). Although my dog can't "scrunch" the mat as she did with the old one, she's happy. I'm happy with the lack of odor.

I ordered 4 of these for my 3 basset hounds and a husky/shepard (Ruby) cross who weigh between 30 and 60 lbs. One of the bassets has lumbar arthritis and my husky has hip dysplasia. Since only one has arrived so far, the kidz are constantly playing musical bed as they all want to rest on it. I personally stood on it to test it (146 lbs) and can honestly say I did not sink to the floor. Although the price has more than tripled since my purchase a week ago (lucky for me when it was not quite $23.00) it is well worth the price even now. When Ruby gets off the bed she doesn't seem to have the difficulty that she had on her old bed...that to me makes the bed worth it!
