Underpowered junk, just buy a cordless dremel December 5, 2008 FUZZY SKULL (NORTHPORT, NEW YORK USA) All this thing is is a poorly made Dremel or Rotary Tool. Long and short, my Cuz bought one and I witnessed him tormenting his pooch with this thing. He gave up after 10 minutes of watching and listening to his Lab shivering and growling and this thing only removed a couple of 1/16th's from one nail in that ten minutes. It is to underpowered to be of any real use. Can I just recommend the easy and professional way. Get a good Canine Nail trimmer, one made in the USA or Germany and then pick up a inexpensive rotary tool with a small drum sander tip . Cut the bulk of the nail off with the mechanical trimmer and then simply use the rotary tool to round and smooth the nails.I have English Bulldogs and have been using this system for ever. If your Dog has Black or dark colored Nails simply get a very strong mini flash light and hold it against the claw to see were the Quick is. I have used this simple technique for over eight years on two English Bulls and have only drawn Blood on two occasions and those two times were my own Mea Culpa .And if it does happen ,a dab of Styptic powder and all is well.Just use a fine grit and a lower speed on the rotary tool, so that very little heat will be produced and don't apply much downward pressure.Your going to find that your dogs claws have never looked and felt so smooth, no more carpet snags or scratched legs and arms.Don't fall for this companys, if you try and clip your animals claws without there wonder Gizmo , it is tantamount to torture malarkey This thing is a cheaply made rip off product that will make your Canine hate nail trimming time. As far as Felines ( yeeeeck) I cant tell you.Oh, by the way if you are looking for a good grooming tool that really works try the Furminator. Yeah I know, nothing to do with claws or there trimming !
It at best is anemic December 3, 2008 LarryStorch (Flagstaff, AZ United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This product is worthless. I tried it and my dog accepted the noise and so on. But it does NOT work, it does not have enough power. with very light pressure it would take off just a little of the nail, but to do the whole ONE nail properly would by my estimate take at least 10 minutes and NO dog would hold still that long. As soon as one puts on a little more pressure to take off nail matter a little quicker, the thing would bog down and even stop. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT for that reason. I even put in two new fresh batteries and then tried two more new fresh ones just in case. the machine is just too weak. But I remembered that I had a tremel tool, and guess what, that one worked like a charm. Each nail took about 10 seconds to file down and it didn't even slow down. I tried returning the tool and the seller would not even reply to my E mails. I FELL once again for a TV advertised wonder machine. Go figure, as old as I am, I didn't get any smarter. BUY a corded Dremel tool or similar tool if you want to grind your dog's nails. Thanks for reading this, it will be my only satisfaction, if it keeps someone else from making my mistake.
Please do not give Pedipaws your Money. December 3, 2008 D. Kerr (Winsor Mills,Md) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We bought this product for our mild mannered semi-lazy cat so we could trim her claws. We tried the slow introduction everyting, there is no way in hell a normal cat would let u use this on them unless u sedate them.Totall waste of money better off clipping their nails.
Waste of time and money December 3, 2008 Orion (Las Vegas, NV USA) This is a rotary tool, like a dremel, with a small sandpaper head that is supposed to file down nails. It didn't work on my dog (Sheltie). The dog was patient enough, but I was not. Do you think I want to sit there all day with a paw in my lap, waiting for this thing to grind down a toenail? I gave up long before the sandpaper wore out, but I just can't believe it would last very long. One thin little piece of sand paper against all those doggie nails, how long could it last? If I had thought about it, I might have tried my Dremel tool, but even that seems pretty silly. I just grabbed the good old clippers and had the nails off in two shakes of a puppy-dog's tail, or I should say about 30 seconds. Do you know what the worst part is? It's how stupid I felt, not only for buying this ridiculous product, but for actually sitting there for 10 minutes trying to make it work. If you want an As-Seen-On-TV product that actually works, try the Shoe Away Show Organizer.
Pedipaws December 3, 2008 T.L.Muza (Virginia) This is a great product! I bought it to cut down on cost of dog grooming (I have two) and it works just like it says! My dogs are still not used to it, but they are getting there. It is safe and easy to use.
