Product Description
The alert, friendly Boston Terrier is easy to groom and readily adapts as a good household companion. Titles in the extensive Complete Pet Owner's Manuals series provide pet owners with basic information on keeping healthy, contented, well-cared-for animals. The series includes approximately 175 titles and covers pets of every kind: dogs, cats, and birds of many breeds, as well as fish, reptiles, rabbits, hamsters, and just about any other animal that people keep as a pet. Facts and advice cover all aspects of pet care, which include proper feeding, housing, health care, grooming, training, and much more. The text in each manual is supplemented with many vivid, full-color photos, and with instructive, anatomically accurate line art. Each manual has been individually written by a breeder, trainer, veterinarian, or experienced animal specialist. Paperback / 96 Pages / 6 1/2 x 7 7/8 / 2002

A basic book on Bostons. Could of been more detailed with regards to potential health problems.

Of the three books I purchased about Boston Terriers, this was by far the best. Tons of information, little stories from owners, and beautiful pictures.

4 out of 5 stars Lovable Boston Bulls   November 15, 2007

This book is a definitive look at the Boston bull. Readers learn about this spirited little hybrid dog which is the result of crossing English bulldogs with small white terriers. The breed was developed in the Boston area.

Good coverage is given to breeding; dental and overall health and the special care that pregnant Bostons require. Since Boston puppies have large heads, they are often delivered by Cesarean.

As much as I enjoyed the drawings of this beautiful breed, I wish there had been some photographs as well. Bostons are beautiful, intelligent and alert little dogs who make excellent pets and are ideal for families. Bostons are highly social and crave interaction.

This is a decent book, but it does leave readers wanting more. Still, it will appeal to those who own or just love the Boston bull.

5 out of 5 stars MOST INFORMATIVE BOOK I FOUND   March 21, 2006

MY SON DECIDED TO GET A BOSTON TERRIER, HIS WIFE IS PREGNANT AND THEY WANTED A DOG THAT WOULD DO WELL WITH CHILDREN. THEY WANTED TO BE GOOD PARENTS TO THE PUPPY AS WELL AS THE BABY AND THIS BOOK HAD MORE INFO ON THE BOSTON TERRIER THAN ANY I LOOKED AT. IT COVERS THE FULL SPECTRUM FROM THE THOUGHT OF A BOSTON TERRIER TO ACTUALLY BRINGING IT HOME AND CARING FOR IT THROUGH IT'S LIFE. BEST BOOK I FOUND!

4 out of 5 stars Basic Knowledge   March 16, 2002

This is a good starting book for those who are considering a Boston. It provides basic care information, but it is best paired with other books on Boston's so as to get the full picture. This would be a good starting book for someone who is trying to decide which puppy to get and wants a little information on the breed.

Though I recommend it be combined with other books, this is still a good quick reference to have on hand.
