Description The devoted collie escapes kennel captivity (with help from young Elizabeth Taylor) and braves storms and peril to return home to Roddy McDowall in the all-time classic Lassie Come Home (Disc 1/Side A). Courage runs in the family in Son of Lassie (Disc 1/Side B), as Lassie's progeny stows away on a World War II Allied bombing run piloted by RAF airman Peter Lawford. Wartime heroics are again at the forefront in Courage of Lassie (Disc 2), starring Taylor and shot on beautiful Canadian locations.

Original Lassie Movies October 13, 2008 James L. Decker (Dallas, TX) What a deal - the first three original "Lassie" movies in one case. These movies are so wholesome with wonderful scenery and fine acting. The "modern" adaptations are okay, but these are the BEST!
Lassie movies September 27, 2008 Frank Aaron Jr. (San Antonio, TX. USA) Three Lassie movies on one DVD. I saw them all growing up and it was well worth it for a trip back down memory lane. Very wholesome family fare.
Lassie Come Home DVD September 17, 2008 Mrs. Estella E. Kennedy (australia) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
Bought this DVD for my grandchildren, thinking of Lassie as "timeless"-unfortunately much of the background story of War[WW2] is not relevant to 5-6 year olds. Also discovered that the DVD code was incompatible with my player,so had to get my son -fortunately savvy re these things- to enter my area code into my unit, after which there was no problem.Personally I enjoyed the nostalgic elements and the scenery but think the modern generation would find it boring.
If you like Collies, this is for you! August 31, 2008 Bruce C. Douglas This is an ideal gift for any young person who likes dogs. Unlike the later TV series, there is much less anthropomorphizing. Lassie (AKA Pal) is a good actor and does some believable things. What will be unbelievable to any Collie owner is how well-groomed she (actually he) usually appears even at the end of a hard day fighting Nazis.
A classic August 30, 2008 Jenn (WA United States) I bought this as a gift and when visiting last week, the 8 year old said she really liked it - except for the scary parts. I smiled, remembering well the angst I had as a child over Lassie's welfare. She experienced the true Lassie experience.
