Great Book for a Basic Lessons in Operant Conditioning April 18, 2002 Kathleen Byrne (Vona, CO USA) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
If you have had no experience with 'clicker training' this book is an excellent source of basic information, giving both theory and many step by step instuctions for lessons. Covers basic lessons in manners such as saddling, trailer loading, giving confidence to nervous horses, picking up feet etc., as well as lessons in lunging, first riding, jumping and more. Relies heavily on target training (which is probably why their method is called "ON TARGET TRAINING")
Excellent ideas conveyed easily in this book. December 7, 2001 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
I found this book to be very easy to read and informative. It reinforced my ideas. The book made a great deal of sense that anybody can agree with.

Great training book based on simple and true principles. It has large, color photos and takes the reader step by step throughout the training process. From ground work to jumping, trailer loading to clipping or loungeing to tricks, this books covers it all. It's easy to read and apply. Highly recommended to any horse owner, rider or trainer.
Breakthrough in Communicating with Horses September 30, 2000 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
I recently bought "You Can Train Your Horse to Do Anything." At first I thought this was just another training program but I am amazed at the simplicity and opportunity with their system. I have been looking for a way to improve my horse's learning and peformance. I find this book presents a unique communications and motivational tool that has been absent from our conventional thinking. The many examples they use in their book illustrate the practicality of their Target Training System. I am now just realizing that this is the first time that I can effectively communicate with my horses and positively reward them as they learn. I'd highly recommend this book to anyone working with horses and believe it has tremendous application regardless of your riding discipline.
