5 out of 5 stars The information was outstanding.   September 7, 1999

This book had everything any person needs to know if they are getting a puppy. The issues it touches are ones I've never seen touched before in a format so easy to understand. It's invigorating that someone actually put it into words and published it. This is the puppy bible. For anyone getting, or considering getting a puppy this is the first book they need to read.

5 out of 5 stars The best book for new puppy buyers.   July 15, 1999

I have been breeding Labradors since the 70's and for several years I have given each of my puppy buyers a copy of this book and encouraged them to read most of it before taking their puppy home. An informed puppy owner takes good care of his or her puppy. And, I want all of my puppies to go to good homes. This book definitely gives good information to the puppy buyer.

5 out of 5 stars Was my "bible" during the first year of my dog's life!   May 11, 1999
This is clearly the best book available on selecting and raising a well adjusted dog from the first weeks of life up to one year old. Special concerns of both male and female puppies are addressed, as well as the various stages of mental development during the first few months of life. Read it, memorize it and apply what they say and you'll have a terrific dog companion!

5 out of 5 stars An exceptional book on how to raise & socialize your puppy:)   October 31, 1998

This is an exceptional book!! I was interested in the both the physical & the mental growth & development of puppies & this book completely fit the bill:) It also relates really good activties & skills as well as some disciplinary strategies to promote good growth & development in your dog. It's far & wide the BEST (first year) dog book I've ever read!!

5 out of 5 stars One of my favorite books on puppy raising!   August 23, 1998

This book teaches how to crate train and how to put a puppy on a schedule that will help with housebreaking. It has a chart in the back on puppy temperament testing. It also talks about dealing with problem behavior and has lots of tips on raising puppies. Sorry to see it is on backorder!
