Can I hear the Dazer II ? No the sound is in the ultrasonic region but dogs and cats clearly hear it. Generally it works best in the 15 to 20 foot range. Can the Dazer II help stop a dog from barking? Yes, by repeated usage and adding a verbal command (such as "Be Quiet") you may be able to train you dog not to bark. By using the sound and verble command you may be able to train you dog to do many wonderful things.

I purchased this item to deal with a neighbor's 2 small mixed breed dogs that bark at everything. It stops one of them quickly and sends him off running to the other side of his house. The other dog will still bark intermittently. It's worth the price in my case.

The product really does work BUT a determined animal will "power through" the pain and come after you. Pepper spray would be a better choice if you are a runner or walker. This is not a self protection device, but it does help to deter barking.

Has little effect on small dogs.Have not tried it on big
dogs yet.But whatever you do...Do not use it to discipline
your cat if it hisses or attacks a friend because it will scare the crap out of them to the point of them wetting or crapping on the floor
or making them run into a wall and hurting themselves.

I purchased our Dazer awhile ago and it is horrible. We have 3 snowzer puppies and a German Roc, The dazer had no affect on them at all. Not sure if the dazer we purchased was defective or what but it was a waste of $30 and it took amazon forever to get it and when we finally did it doesnt even work on our dogs.

Works as others have also experienced. Stops big dogs in their tracks! Smaller dogs don't seem to be bothered. It doesn't seem to work through obstacles like wooden fences, but that's ok. I like it!
