Zen & Zero September 29, 2008 Jose L. Sanson (San Juan, PR) One of the thing that makes surfing exiting it's the trip itself to your favorite spot. This movie explores that part of surfing with very real and raw situations. It makes you dream and plan similar trips. The film captures very good surf spots combine with real daily adventures. The surfers are not very good but that makes the film more real. The story flows very well and the editing is great. Very interesting photography combining high quality video with 8mm film. Very cool movie and narrator.
Good Premise, but I expected more June 12, 2008 spaceghost413 (Charlotte NC) I think this was a good idea and it was somewhat entertaining. For such a long trip over 6000 miles, there was a lot cut out. This could have been better. If you are curious about surfing and just picking up and travelling, this is something to watch if you want to kill 90 minutes.
Very Strange - But I Liked It April 5, 2008 TheBookWorm (Australia) Bit of strange one. Couple of Austrian guys buy a couple of trucks and head into the wilds of South America looking for surf and also to find the author of Searching For Captain Zero who had gone to the same area years before and decided to stay. Features some great waves, a bit of comedy relief and a pretty good story-line.
The Surf Trip guide May 16, 2007 Rodrigo C. Gazzaneo (Rio de Janeiro, Brasil) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
A creative surf movie, unlike any you have seen. No surf stars, no radical moves, only ordinary surfers (like me and many others) enjoying the surf trip of their lives.
group wanderlust May 5, 2007 L. Bergman (Wilmington, NC) I like this kind of film or book anyway, but this was captivating. The movie stands on its own for sure as just a good film, but for me the addition of the surfing theme was the attraction, and then for the ultimate treat we see Weisbecker in his element. If you have read his books and like them, its worth the movie just to see those sections he appears and how surreal it all feels.
